Thermal imaging is a none-invasive diagnostic technique that allows us to visualize and quantify changes in the surface temperature of electrical equipment.  An infrared camera converts infrared radiation (heat ) emitted from the surface of electrical equipment and materials.  By the use of camera  technology you can work out temperature differences in the area of looking at and find high resistant areas as well as other issues.
